A Little Update

It has been awhile since I have posted anything. I have been taking a break from making prints and have been painting and making collages. Look for new work to be posted soon. I have also been teaching with Art for the People, a non-profit organization that provides arts instruction to populations that generally don't have access to the arts. We currently teach in homeless shelters, prisons, and at senior centers in Maryland. We are in the process of expanding into Virginia. This has been quite possibly the best job I've ever had. I am also still giving private art lessons out of my studio in Loudoun County.

Hello, I am Heather

Greetings from the mountain. I am a printmaker and all around artist living near Harper's Ferry, WV. This is some recent work.

I'd like to get some grant funding to make these prints on a large scale. The prints shown here are in the 12"x 9" range. All of these prints are multiple plate intaglio, monoprint, and gum transfer layers. I work on 5 or 6 at a time every week or two, when I'm on. I have developed a pretty unusual way of working that involves many steps in a certain sequence that is hard to explain. It never gets dull because I just barely have control of the process.

Thanks for stopping by.

Shadowbirds

I didn't want to part with this one. It was the spark for so many other prints and became dear and precious to me. Luckily, a good friend bought it so I can visit it anytime.

The Birds

This print is my love letter to Marc Chagall.
